Alright so Vacation season is upon us and a lot of us are looking to trim down. I found a great recipe that not only my kids loved but my husband had two of them...(I didn't tell him it was low in fat till after he got done eating, knowing that he is one of the most picky eaters in the world.)
Give it a try.
Send an email to hatchtoyota@gmail.com and let us know what you think with your name and mailing address.
We will draw a winner one week from today for a free oil change!
What could be better than a delicious low fat dinner and a free oil change???
Ingredients
1 pound(s) lean ground turkey
1/2 cup(s) seasoned bread crumbs, Italian-flavor
1/4 cup(s) grated Parmesan cheese, such as Parmigiano-Reggiano
1 large egg(s)
1 1/2 tsp Italian seasoning
2 tsp kosher salt
24 oz canned tomato sauce
20 oz Italian bread, about two 10-inch loaves
1/2 cup(s) shredded part-skim mozzarella cheese
Instructions
Preheat oven to 350°F. Place oven racks in top 1/3 of oven. Line two baking sheets with parchment paper or foil that’s been coated with cooking spray.
In a large bowl, combine turkey, bread crumbs, cheese, egg, Italian seasoning and salt. Using a tablespoon to scoop out turkey mixture, gently shape a tablespoon of mixture into a small meatball and place on a prepared baking sheet; repeat with remaining ingredients to make 32 meatballs. Bake, shaking pans every 5 minutes to promote even browning, about 10 to 15 minutes.
While meatballs are cooking, slice each loaf of bread into four equal pieces.
When meatballs are done, remove from baking sheets. Place bread on same baking sheets; top each piece with 4 meatballs. Spoon about 3 tablespoons sauce over meatballs in each sandwich; top each with 1 tablespoon cheese. Bake until cheese is melted and sandwiches are heated through, about 5 to 7 minutes. Yields 1 sandwich per serving.
Notes
Scoop out some bread to create better space for the meatballs so they do not fall out of the sandwich when you bite it.Top with fresh basil if desired.

Medical Advice
Just as a precaution. I was informed by a medical professional (my children's Doctor) today that here in the White Mountains during our WINDY Springs, strep is blown in off the mesas. It runs rampant up here.
The joys of WIND.
Wash your hands and stay out of the wind!!!

Top 10 Reasons to Shop Locally
Here on the mountain a large part of our population's income comes from self-owned small businesses. Here are some good reasons to think about keeping your money up here where you live.
1. A significantly larger amount of money re-circulates in the White Mountain Area. When purchasing at locally owned businesses, more money is kept where it belongs, in your community! This is because these businesses will most likely buy from other businesses which are locally owned. So in turn we are growing each others businesses as well as our local tax bases.
2. Local Charity and Non-Profit groups receive more support.
3. Most new jobs are created by locally owned businesses.
4. Customer service almost always seems to be better.
5. Local Business owners invest in the community , are more likely to stay, and invest in the communities future.
6. Competition and diversity give the consumer more options.
7. More jobs are created by local businesses.
8. For every $100 spent locally, $68 returns to the community through taxes, pay roll and other expenditures. Non-local only $43 returns and internet shopping $0 returns.
9. If half the employed population spent $50 each month in locally owned independent businesses, it would generate more than $42.6 billion in revenue. Imagine the positive impact if 3/4 the employed population did that.
10. You matter more to a local business. What you have to say, how you are treated, your requests and services are more likely to be heard and followed through with than if you go with a big-box chain store.

A Tip For the Colder Weather
I found this guys blog and thought it was interesting.
I can remember my grandfather going outside 10 minutes or so before he left for work to start the car. He'd crank it up, then come back inside and eat a banana or something while he let his bright yellow Lincoln warm up. Back in the day, this wasteful ritual was practiced regularly by drivers around the world. It was rooted in practicality. Old carbureted engines functioned much better warm than cold. They ran more smoothly and efficiently once warmed up. So letting an engine warm up at idle was actually not a bad idea at all.
Fast forward to this millennium and we've got a very different story. Carbs are history, our engines use fuel injection systems that carefully monitor efficiency both in engine power and fuel delivery. These systems employ subsystems that compensate for things like temperature by making minute external adjustments to fueling. This means it will operate at optimum efficiency regardless of engine temperatures. First thing in the morning, it's adding a little extra to the mix to get things warmed up. It's also making sure that when you step on the gas there's enough oomph to get you up to speed quickly. This means that any amount of time you let your car sit in the driveway idling you're wasting gas. You're also not doing the environment any favors because your emission control devices (like the catalytic converter) only function properly hot, and they heat up much faster by driving than sitting still in the driveway. So even if you're a grandpa, don't watch your car warm up through the kitchen window, get going!

Award
Hatch Toyota was recently awarded the Big Business of the Year Award from the Show Low Chamber of Commerce. We are so honored to have been recognized in that way in our community.
Some of the criteria included in the reason we were voted for this award were:
99% of the building materials used in building the new state of the art facility was bought locally.
Hatch Toyota is an investment into the community.
And has created jobs.
And much more.
We have had a great start and hope to continue serving our surrounding community.

Important Information YOU should know
So you're driving down the road and see a boy on the side of the road holding a sign advertising cheap oil changes at the local oil change store.
Before you turn your Toyota into that garage remember this case in point.
A man just like you did that exact thing.
He thought it would be quick, and convenient.
What he didn't know was that in all the hustle and bustle of trying to get cars in and out, the technician cracked the casing, causing the truck to have an oil leak.
The man brought the truck down to Hatch Toyota to have it fixed assuming he would be covered under warranty.
WRONG.
Toyota will not warranty your vehicle if something like this occurs while getting your vehicle serviced anywhere but your local authorized Toyota dealer.
This man walked out disgruntled and a few dollars short in his pocket.
Think of the time and money, not to mention peace of mind you will drive away with by servicing your vehicle at Hatch Toyota first.
Don't think you need an oil change?
Give us a call at 928-537-5755.
